Objective

As an Architect, I engage in the entire technology/project lifecycle, with an emphasis on supporting business development, capture and proposal activities to include: interfacing with government clients and partners, identifying opportunities for growth, building out solutions, participating in teaming decisions, and developing best practice reports.
 
As a recognized expert, I design to optimize customer architectures, introduce innovations, work within customer’s business constraints, and technological realities. I also help to create baseline configuration and provide knowledge transfer. 
 
This role will support various events and symposia as the face of expertise for the IT and Network Communication Services business to the DoD community through speaking engagements, publishing white papers and meeting with senior customer leaders.  
 
As a “Thought Leader” I help set the short and long term strategic road map for the IT business including keeping current with industry trends and standards, both from and business and technical standpoint and leading the way into the future.  
 

·   Working individually or as part of a team, determine customer requirements in complex and often ambiguous outsourced environments from client RFx documents and/or client interactions. Interacts effectively with team, pursuit leaders, internal governance and business leadership to advance sales efforts.

·   Developing solution components comprehending the ongoing delivery of services, services startup/transition, technology/process transformation and ongoing refresh which meet client's specifications, strategic direction, technology context, and business needs.

·   Ensures that any solution elements within their scope contribute to an innovative value proposition. I am creative and adapt to customer needs rather than providing boiler plate responses.

·   Communicates inter-tower dependencies, volume overlaps, staff sharing, and other opportunities for solution optimization. Assesses solution, delivery and client needs to identify integration points. Clearly defines risks through governance process and works to mitigate them.

·   Conducts and/or coordinates internal solution governance reviews

·   15 years' experience in Engineering/Architecture/consultative delivery.

·   US Citizen, Security Clearance

·   Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·   Extensive understanding of and experience with Network products and services (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, etc...)

·   Cisco and Juniper Certifications including CCNP, JNCIS and CCIE certifications.

·   Service provider level knowledge of Architecture Concepts and Troubleshooting to include MPLS, BGPv4, L2/L3 VPNs, QoS, OSPF, GRE Tunnels, IPV6, and multicast.

·   Experience in developing IT planning documents that address enterprise-wide issues and strategies.

·   Ability to conduct infrastructure strategic and tactical analysis of network migration initiatives (i.e. network optimization, technology refresh, network system integration, etc.) to identify transition execution and operational impacts. Experience in network Life Cycle Management processes and documentation desired.

·   Ability to research and analyze various technologies and provide valued feedback to a multitude of stakeholders including executive level government representatives, other contractors, and program senior management.

·   Work closely with engineering and service delivery teams to define technical configuration and best practices to optimize the existing legacy network environment.

·   Experience in provisioning, installing, and maintaining network data circuits, assuring connectivity and compatibility requirements are satisfied, and monitoring the quality of data transition and IP services provided by vendors. 

·   Provide technical knowledge transfer in acting as a technical subject matter expert to operations support teams regarding how to best architect, deploy, and sustain.

·   Confidently articulate specific aspects of solution and persuasively communicate value to the client

·   Solid level of general IT industry, networking and data center technologies and US Public Sector business acumen; keeps current with trends and able to converse with internal stakeholders and client on RFP requirements, solution, issues and challenges.

·   Demonstrated success in architecting and designing solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements and within budget.

·   Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to produce compelling solution that are easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences

·   Demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels in the organization and within the customer environment.

·   Demonstrated experience with Systems Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Management Planning

·   Configured and deployed (3) regional data centers consisting of Cisco Nexus 7k's, 5k's, 2k's and 1k's.

·   Provide technical leadership and mentoring of junior engineers in the day-to-day support of a large, complex MPLS based enterprise network, and data center switching infrastructure

Network Consulting Engineer (Advanced Services)

·   Managed a network of over 4000 devices segmented into four (4) different OSPF domains and interconnected with BGP for a global leader in the hospitality industry (Marriott).

·   Lead a team of Engineers in designing, deploying and migrating a metropolitan transit rail’s legacy network with RIP and EIGRP, to an MPLS L3VPN architecture, MVPN and OSPF (Washington Metro)

·   Redesigned business continuity and resiliency Services Company’s flat layer-2 architecture, into a scalable, reliable and resilient VPLS network.

·   Acted as the Subject Mater Expert in optimizing and improving over 2000 multi-vendor router enterprise network comprising of EIGRP and BGP for a large energy company.

·   Designed and architected solutions to integrate an existing Data Center infrastructure to a next-generation Disaster Recovery Center, in a hot/warm setup which improved data replication, systems integration and implementation approaches.

·   Configured, deployed and supported a large MPLS and Frame Relay network as well as VOIP and QoS.

·   Worked with the server, firewall and load balancer teams, assigning VLANs and providing network support to enable them deploy their servers.
